A ten year old Arkansas boy named Will Phillips decided to stage his own gay rights protest by refusing to stand up and recite the pledge of alliegence, citing that "with liberty and justice for all" does not currently apply to homosexuals.
The kid has balls, that's for sure. I remember being that age; homosexual slurs were typically the standard insult to hurl at other boys, and the idea of taking some kind of principled stand that would open you up to gay suspition was unthinkable. And that was in a fairly progressive part of Minnesota, this kid live in Arkansas.
Of course, considering young Will is a flippant brainiac who's been skipped ahead to the fifth grade, he probably is already osticized from most popular clicks, so this may not be much of a change for him.
Still...what balls.
